Ask My Mother to Sing

It was a hot summer day in the valley.
Me and my brother went to the pond to catch fish,
but it was too hot. We caught no fish, so we decided to go home.
On the way, my brother started us singing
a song Mom loved to sing.
It was too hot, so I stopped singing.
It had been two months since it rained.
On the walk home, we decided to get some jelly to take home
and ask Mom to sing for us.
We got home. Mommy asked, “Where are the fish?”
Sam said, “We got no fish today, but we got jelly.
Mommy, can you please sing for us, Mom, please?”
“Okay. One song. Okay.”
Mom started to sing for us. Everyone was happy.
Look! It’s raining, too.
We love when Mother sings.
