Conrado Restrepo is fifty-eight years old. A native of Medellín, Colombia, he arrived in New York in 2000. He writes, “When I lived in Colombia, I worked in HVAC systems. Here, I work hard restoring houses. I wrote about the planet Earth because I think life on this planet is at risk. I want people to know this and do something to stop the danger. I’m doing my small part.” At the Queens Public Library’s Elmhurst Adult Learning Center, he studies with teacher Jovito de la Paz. Michelle Johnston is the center’s manager.
