Cowboy Centos
“Cowboy Centos” is a collection of collage poems composed from the lyrics of three contemporary country albums, accompanied by works of creative prose that explore themes of identity in country music. Through this collection, Gallatin MA student Mer Wade seeks to understand how country artists Orville Peck, Our Native Daughters, and The Chicks communicate ideas about race, gender, sexuality, and nationality through their lyrics, music, and performances.
