Presentation Video

Amer’s conference presentation and research project are centered around an examination of the Punjabi pop-culture space, with a special emphasis on musical production. His primary areas of interest revolve around questions of institutional control and the role of socio-cultural signifiers such as caste and class in determining access to the ownership of Punjabi identity, and the ability to disseminate it ‘authentically’.
