Sunflower Sanctuary

I feel sadness and disappointment,
there is only emptiness inside me
so I am going to the field,
my sunflower field.

Not far away from my sanctuary,
I smell the early sunflower seeds,
And hear the melodic singing of birds.
There are jays’ soft chirping
and ouzels’ sonorous singing,
I am nearby.

I walk up to the first sunflower I see;
It is a little bit higher than me.
The sunlight shines on some missing seeds;
I know that flying birds ate them.
I go farther,
to the middle of the field
where nobody sees me.

I wander between huge flowers and see insects.
On the stems, I see ladybugs.
On the ground, spiders.
I am not alone here,
but this company does not bother me.

My thoughts are about everything around me,
not about something else.

I see the yellow leaves
and the black circle made by sunflower seeds.
I will stay here for an hour
Then I will return home
feeling inspired and happy.
